Relaxing massage
A.k.a. Balinese massage, techniques are gentle and aim to make the patient feel relaxed and calm throughout. The techniques include skin folding, kneading, stroking and other techniques. The massage therapist applies aromatherapy oil throughout the massage. A patient’s blood, oxygen and energy flow increases as a result of the treatment. Health benefits to a relaxation massage – calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of well-being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.

Reflexology
The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are “reflex” areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. Applying pressure to these reflex areas can promote health in the corresponding organs through energetic pathways. A scientific explanation is that the pressure may send signals that balance the nervous system or release chemicals such as endorphins that reduce pain and stress. Stress and stress-related conditions. Refloxology helps:
- Tension headaches
- Digestive disorders
- Arthritis
- Insomnia
- Hormonal imbalances
- Sports injuries
- Menstrual disorders, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- Digestive problems, such as constipation
- Back pain
Reflexology is a popular alternative therapy. It promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing.

Sei-Tai
Body Alignment
Hip Clearance is a method of realignment of the pelvis where the distortion has been caused by a misalignment of the sacroiliac joint.
There are nine Seitai exercises for hip clearance and they all follow the same principle. There are two motion barriers for any body movement – the Easy Motion Barrier (EMB) and the Anatomical Motion Barrier (AMB). Using the techniques of Seitai and/or Sotai the musculature is relaxed increasing the range of movement before the EMB is reached.Pressure is applied to different parts/points on the body, using great precision. Even though the method has a very ancient origin, it is continously being developed and adapted to the needs that occur in our bodies due to the modern life style. This makes Seitai unique among the traditional therapies. Seitai confirms and uses the extraordinary self healing powers of the human body. The treatment stimulates the ki flow, i.e. the power of life (ki can also be written chi or qi). Consequently, the Seitai therapist does not “cure” the condition but guides the body to improved health through self healing.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a form of massage that originated in Japan and traditional Chinese medicine, and has been widely practiced around the world since the 1970s. Shiatsu means “finger pressure,” which describes the technique. In shiatsu therapy, pressure with thumbs, hands, elbows, knees or feet is applied to pressure points on the body. This form of massage also focuses on rotating and stretching limbs, joints, and pressure points, or meridians, as they’re called in traditional Chinese medicine.
Shiatsu massage has many benefits to the body and mind. Here is a list of some of those benefits:
- Restore and maintain the body’s energy, especially helpful to those suffering from fatigue and overall weakness
- Improves circulation
- Reduces stress and tension as well as anxiety and depression
- Relief from headaches
- Promotes healing from sprains and similar injuries
- And much more…

Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as:
- Chronic pain
- Limited mobility
- Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)
- Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
- Postural problems
- Ostearthritis pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Muscle tension or spasm

Sport Massage
Special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used. The technique often involves a blend of traditional Swedish massage and Shiatsu specifically designed to treat professional athletes.

Watsu
In the pool
Watsu is a form of aquatic bodywork used for deep relaxation and passive aquatic therapy. Watsu is characterized by one-on-one sessions in which a practitioner or therapist gently cradles, moves, stretches, and massages a receiver in chest-deep warm water.

Pregnancy Massage
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
